Most conferences promise quick fixes. Catapult pushed us to dig into our vision, endurance, and enable real business systems for change. Let's keep that momentum going.
Thank you to everyone who joined me at the Cultivate Advisors Catapult Conference in Chicago. I left energized by the conversations, the curiosity in the room, and the commitment I saw from advisors and business leaders to do the hard work that growth requires.
If you’re planning a future conference or leadership retreat, keep me in mind. My job is to energize, equip, and inspire teams with tools they can use the very next day.
Click on this link or the slide below to downolad a pdf of the slides I presented to you.
In my keynote, we walked through practical tools to help leaders and their teams:
- Motivation and Self-Determination Theory – Why autonomy, competence, and relatedness matter more than pep talks.
- Embracing the Challenge of Leadership – How leadership is a foundational and functional skill we all need to develop if we are to achieve our impact goals, enterprise value goals and employee development goals.
- Endurance and Change Management – Lessons from rowing, family and business: transformation doesn’t happen overnight, and we have the capacity to be patient while driving change. Results compound if you stick with the process and trust your advisors.
These ideas connect deeply to the work I wrote about in my book, The Responsibility Ethic—twelve strategies to do the work and make success happen. If you want to explore further, I’ve written more on:
- Motivation and Self-Determination Theory
- A Free Mini-Book on Motivational Theory and How It Applies To Your Next Leadership Breakthrough
- How to Coach Your Leaders who Resist Change

To those who attended Catapult: thank you again. I hope you take what we shared and put it to work. Because motivation fades. Values endure. Systems win.
Kindly,
Adam Kreek
